My journey to the Pixel Fold 10 Pro started unexpectedly. My Pixel 9 Pro Fold died after about a year of use. Google replaced it under warranty, but since Black Friday deals were available and Google gave me a generous trade-in offer on the replacement, I decided it was the perfect time to move up to the Fold 10. As a Google One subscriber, I also earned additional store credit that helped bring the price down.
I reviewed my experience with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold earlier this year in my article about my first week with the device. The Fold 10 feels familiar in many ways, but there are a few changes that make it a better fit for me and may matter to you. After a month of daily use, here are my detailed thoughts.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold does not reinvent the foldable design, but it refines the formula in ways that matter in real use.

Hardware and Design
The Pixel Pro Fold 10 looks and feels a lot like the Pixel Fold 9. The in-hand feel is nearly identical and pocketability is unchanged. I noticed one major difference immediately though. The hinge feels stronger. It opens and closes smoothly and feels more durable, which gives me extra confidence about long-term use.
Google improved the dust and water resistance. The Fold 10 is IP68 rated, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against continuous water immersion. Foldables with exposed hinges always make me a little nervous, so the added protection is welcome.
The inner screen is a little brighter and looks crisp, whether reading indoors or outside. The crease is still visible when the light hits it at the wrong angle, but it disappears quickly during use. The exterior screen is unchanged and still great for quick interactions or one-handed use.
Overall, if you liked the hardware on the Fold 9, you will feel right at home with the Fold 10. These devices are very close in size and general feel.
Daily Use and Performance
In everyday use, performance feels about the same as the Fold 9. That is not a complaint. The Tensor G4 in the Fold 9 was plenty fast for my needs, and the G5 in the Fold 10 continues that trend. Apps open quickly, scrolling is smooth, and multitasking works well.
Switching between the outer screen and the larger inner display is maybe a little smoother, but both devices handled that transition well. The Fold 10 feels stable and polished. It runs everything I use regularly without issues, including email, reading, accounting, multi-window research, messaging, social media, maps, and controlling my smart home.
The large inner screen continues to be one of my favorite things about owning a foldable. It is fantastic for reading and long browsing sessions. My eyes appreciate the extra screen real estate.
Wireless Charging
This is one of the biggest upgrades, and the problem that pushed me toward the Fold 10.
The wireless charging coil on the Fold 9 was too high on the back of the device. This made it incompatible with most upright chargers, including Google’s own Pixel Stand. I had to lift the phone up using padding to get it to charge on some stands.
The Fold 10 fixes this completely. The coil is centered, and it supports Qi2 fast charging, which brings stronger magnetic alignment and better reliability. Because it supports PixelSnap, Google’s version of MagSafe-style magnets, attaching chargers and stands is effortless.
I use a thick and rugged case, the CENMASO Magnetic Pixel 10 Pro Fold Case with hinge protection and dual kickstands. It is very protective and supports PixelSnap accessories, though it does add bulk. Even with this case, the Fold 10 works well with the right chargers.
Here are the chargers that work great for me:

Google’s Pixelnap charger with stand did not work well with this case. The stand would usually quit charging after a minute for whatever reason. I had this problem with a couple of other chargers I tried, but the ones above work great.
Wireless charging on the Fold 10 is reliable and fast. Some wireless power banks generate heat if the phone stays attached for long periods, but overall wireless charging is much better than on the Fold 9.
PixelSnap Accessories
PixelSnap is my single favorite upgrade. This magnetic accessory system opens the door to a whole new ecosystem. Stands, chargers, power banks, wallets, mounts, and more are now usable with the Fold 10. The magnetic connection is strong, and accessories stay attached securely.
With the Fold 9, none of this was possible. With the Fold 10, I now have a setup that works exactly the way I want it to.
Cameras
To my eye, the cameras on the Fold 10 are very similar to the Fold 9. Photos and videos look about the same in everyday shooting. Google’s image processing is still excellent and low light performance continues to be strong.
If you are hoping for major camera upgrades, they are not here. For me, that is fine because the Fold 9 camera system was already good enough.
Battery Life
Battery life is slightly better than what I experienced with the Fold 9. The Fold 10 gets through a full day comfortably. I have not had any issues with battery drain, even using the large inner screen regularly.
Charging is faster than before and more reliable across different chargers. Heat can occur with certain wireless power banks, but it has not been a problem in normal daily charging routines.
Software, Multitasking, and Gemini AI
Software performance on the Fold 10 is about the same as the Fold 9, which is good. App continuity between the outer and inner screens works well. Split-screen productivity is excellent and makes good use of the large inner display. Some small refinements make transitions feel slightly smoother.
The Fold 10 also brings new Gemini AI features that allow you to generate summaries, respond to messages more quickly, edit photos intelligently, and use advanced writing tools. I have not explored these deeply yet, but having access to Google’s newest AI capabilities is a nice benefit.
Durability
After a month, the Fold 10 feels durable. The hinge feels solid and confidence-inspiring. I have not seen any dust accumulation or screen protector issues. The improved dust resistance rating helps give some peace of mind. That said, I use a rugged case that provides serious protection, so your experience may vary without a case.
I do wish the entire device were thinner and that slimmer kickstand case options existed. The current options are protective but bulky.
Is the Pixel Fold 10 Worth Upgrading From the Pixel Fold 9?
For most people, the answer is no. The Fold 10 is an iterative upgrade and very similar to the Fold 9 in size, speed, usability, and overall experience.
You should consider upgrading only if the following matter to you:
- PixelSnap magnetic accessories
- Better wireless charging compatibility
- Qi2 fast charging
- Improved dust resistance and hinge durability
If none of these features excite you, the Fold 9 is still a great foldable. But if any of these upgrades solve frustrations you had before, the Fold 10 becomes a compelling choice.
For buyers new to foldables, the Fold 10 is a strong entry point. It offers a refined and reliable experience with excellent software, a bright and spacious inner screen, and the benefits of the Pixel ecosystem.
Final Thoughts
I am happy with the upgrade from the Fold 9 to the Fold 10 because it solved my biggest annoyance and added PixelSnap, which I use every day. The Fold 10 is not dramatically different, but it improves the things that matter most to me.
If you are new to foldables or value wireless charging, fast magnetic accessories, and better durability, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a great device to own.
