Let me warn you, once you get the LED bug you can’t stop! These are products I use and recommend for building eyecatching and beautiful LED displays in and outside your home. Examples include LED strips and strings, LED controllers, wiring, and more.

These work great for the outdoors or indoors. Here are examples of how I used them.
I use these 12V LED strings on my Christmas tree, and outdoors for various decorations. They work great. Here are some examples of how I use the strings.
5V LED strings and strips are a little easier to wire, but voltage drops make them a little harder to deal with on long runs.
If you don’t want to build your own LED controllers these are a good alternative, but more expensive.
These Govee LED strips are a good alternative to the DIY LEDs, but you won’t be able to customize the displays as much.
If you’re in the Philips Hue ecosystem, this might be a good choice but they are expensive for what you get.
These are great for building your own LED controllers with WLED. You can be up and running in 10 minutes with no prior experience.
You can do the same thing with these as you can with the NodeMCU. They are built differently but use the same basic chipset.
If you don’t want to build your own addressable LED controller you can always buy one. They aren’t that expensive.
This wire has served me well for power injection and longer power runs for my LEDs.
