Chromebooks have risen quite a bit in popularity over the years and for good reason. They started off as low-powered glorified web browsing machines. Now they run all kinds of web apps, Linux apps, and Android apps and you can get laptops with impressive specs. I’ve owned a Samsung Chromebook Plus and an HP Chromebook x360, which have served me well but may not be the best Chromebooks. Looking for advice on which one you should buy? Best Chromebooks for kids
If you want to buy a Chromebook for a teen or younger you probably don’t want to pay a lot and you want it to be especially durable. Children are also more accustomed to carrying around small screens and tablets so they will probably prefer their Chromebook compact and light.

Chromeboxes, which are small desktop computers that run ChromeOS, haven’t become as popular as their laptop cousins. However, if you are looking for the simplicity, security, and low cost of ChromeOS without the need for portability and a screen, these are great options.
